Do I have to pay a deposit to secure my appointment?
A non-refundable booking fee of £15 is required to secure all appointments; this will be deducted from your total bill on the day of your appointment. This payment can be made via Paypal or bank transfer.
The remaining balance can be made via a cash, Paypal, BACS or card payment. Please note, card payments will incur a surcharge of £1
Please note: Booking fee amounts are lost if appointments are not attended or are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.
Do I have to prep my hair before a braids appointment?
All customers who have opted for braided styles, are advised to arrive to their appointments with clean, detangled hair with minimum product, unless additional services have been booked/agreed. An extra charge of £10 will be added for detangling. Clients with dirty hair will not be serviced.
Please note - Braided styles will last longer on natural textured hair if the hair has been blow dried (or stretched, for those who prefer not to use heat).
HBR is happy to service hair of all textures with a minimum length of 2 inches for Afro hair and 4 inches for European hair.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Any bookings that need to be cancelled/rescheduled should be done so at least 48 hours before an appointment. This can be done online or via email. Any appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will result in the loss of the deposit amount paid.
NB. In the event of changes to the COVID-19 guidelines that result in lockdown rescrictions, all existing paid booking fee's will be transferred to a future date, unfortunately no refunds will be given.
Is extension hair provided with my braiding service?
No, all service prices do not include the cost of extension hair. Although it is recommended that clients provide their own hair for all services, HBR is happy to provide hair at an additional agreed cost.
Are mobile in-home services free?
Mobile appointments are free of travel costs if within a 3 mile radius from LS1. Any appointments over 3 miles will be charged at 45p per mile for the round trip.
Mobile appointments cover a maximum of a 100 mile round trip from Leeds City Centre; 50 miles each way.
Where is the salon based?
HBR provides salon based appointments at No.8 Salon, 8 Cottage Road, Leeds, LS6 4DD.
Services are appointment based only. Any available same-day walk in appointments will be featured on Instagram stories.
Are hair accessories included?
Hair clips and string are provided free of charge with all braided styles.* Subject to stock levels.
What are your COVID-19 policies for salon appointments?
All clients will be asked to wash their hands as soon as they arrive into the salon.
There will be hand sanitiser available around the salon for extra use
Frequently touched areas will be cleaned before every customer is serviced. This will include taps, door handles, toilet areas (if needed) service chair and trolley.
Weather permitting, the door will be left ajar to allow fresh air to circulate in the salon.
Although cash payments will still be accepted, contactless payments will be the preferred method of payment, this includes Paypal, bank transfer or contactless payment via a mobile card device - (Please note, this method will incur a £1 charge).
Face coverings/masks are now compulsory for clients.
Personal belongings should be kept to a minimum. Coats/jackets and bags will need to be kept in your possession as the coat area will be unavailable until further notice.
Clients will not be able to bring extra people into the salon. Children with an appointment are the only exception. In this case, Parents/Guardians will be asked to sit in the waiting area on the window seats.
The window seats are the only area clients are able to sit whilst they wait to be serviced.
Unfortunately hot or cold drinks will be unavailable until further notice, but please feel free to bring your own refreshments along to your appointment. Any waste from food/drinks will need to be taken with you when you leave.
If you are feeling unwell, have recently returned from overseas travel or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment as soon as possible, even if you do not have any symptoms.
Due to the uncertainty of the new system/safety measures, appointment times may run over slightly. Please be patient and understanding as we all try to adapt to the new routine.
